My Clinker planked open launch the boiler is a centre flue with water tubes, the engine is a Trojan double acting slide valve 5/8” bore 1 1/8” stroke made from castings
The chequer plate foot boards are aluminium mesh bonded to a aluminium plate with Araldite
This engine was my first attempt at building a locomotive after finishing my traction engines and I found some parts of the construction a bit different to building traction engines. I have a book for the construction of this engine by LBSC the designer of the model which helped me understand how things fitted together. The copper boiler is professionally made I fitted a stainless steel super heater, injector, axle pump, hand pump in tender, and steam brake.
It was an interesting model to build but I still prefer Traction Engines
