The poor quality picture above shows the trunk guide being bored for the cross head, I made a plywood fixture to hold the casting on the cross slide and bedded the casting on to the fixture with plastic metal I adjusted the casting on centre and parallel to the boring bar before the plastic metal set, where the casting was in contact with the plastic metal I stuck a piece of plastic tape to the casting to act as a release agent.
Not a pure engineering set up I know but it worked and the bore was accurate when finished
